Jicama asian salad

I really had a great time with my friends to do this "chopped home edition "it was fun
We created three meals "Jicama Asian salad" is of one them and gummy bear candy is one of secret and interesting ingredient in this salad,  of course you skip it if you going to  make this salad, but I kind  like the citrus taste from gummy bear in this salad.




Ingredients :
- 1 jicama
- 1 English cucumber / cucumber
- 1/2 red onion
- 1/4 small red cabbage
- 2 table spoon chopped cilantro

Dressing ingredients :
- 1 cup pine nuts
- 2 clove garlic
- hand full of cilantro
- 2 Thai chili's
- 1 lemon ( juice + zest )
- 3 gummy bear  ( optional,but taste really well / citrus on this salad )
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon honey

Preparations :
Peel jicama, julienne cut all salad ingredients ( jicama,cucumber,red cabbage and onion+ little bit chopped cilantro )
mix them into large bowl,set aside



Toast pine nuts and garlic for  about 2 minutes or so until slightly brown,transfer into chopper blender
add lemon juice, zest, Thai chili's,sesame oil and cilantro and blender until smooth


Melt 3 piece gummy bear candy, transfer into chopper immediately, a fun part.


Pour into salad mixed them well and ready to serve !


The ingredients on the basket are   Jicama, fresh beets, pine nuts,gummy bear, swordfish, and fresh lobster

  1. Wonderful, all of it which came together for a great meal. The beet is tempting and the gummy bear is a new discovery for the salad. That said, it's like an Asian style with some of the ingredients added in.

  7. I love your version of the Jicama salad, but the gummy bears remind me of our Food Network show...'Chopped' as one of the secret ingredients you have to creatively combine into a dish.

    Sounds interesting and fun, and probably gives it a 'kick' of slight sweetness. (I would not tell my guests abt. the secret ingredient...LOL)
