Tofu Pad Thai

Tofu pad Thai is one of my favorite Thai dish, I often cook at home, I use uncook tofu or store bought fried tofu or soy puffs to cook more easier and faster.








Ingredients : yield for 2-4
- 8 oz  Thai Rice noodles
- 1 block extra firm tofu/ fried tofu/ soy puffs
- vegetable oil for fry tofu ( if use uncooked tofu )
- 2 tablespoon peanut oil /sesame oil
- 2 cup beansprout
- 2 shallot
- 2 clove garlic
-  4 stalk green onion
- ground peanut

for the sauce
- 2 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2  tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon tamarind juice / tamarind paste or rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes/1 tsp hot chili sauce


Preparation :
soak rice noodles in to warm water until soft or follow direction on the package
slice fried tofu.
crush garlic and shallot until smooth /or chop really fine

In a small bowl just mix all sauce ingredients  above until combine,set aside

In big fry pan or wok pan ,heat peanut /sesame oil on medium high temperature
fry crush garlic and shallot
add rice noodles,stir
add fried tofu/soy puffs
add bean sprout and green onion.
add sauce mixture
keep stirring for about 4-5 minutes until rice noodles is softened
ready to serve and topping with ground peanut and lemon/lime wedges

    Btw, I am already in Vietnam for the pass 3 days and tomorrow heading to Cambodia. Sorry if I am unable to comment on your blog due to time constraint but certainly will esp when the internet connection is found as in certain places, its really bad.

  2. I have been wanting to make pad thai for a while. I just bought some tamarind concentrate and this recipe looks great. I love your mortar and pestle.. it's beautiful! This pad thai would make me very happy... I hope it helps you mend faster. :)
