Calamari tempura in tomato spicy sauce
Ingredients :
400 gr clean squid with tentacles about 8 pcs
6 oz tempura batter mix ( half package a picture bellow)
3/4 cup cold water
vegetable oil for fry about 2-3 cups
tomato spicy sauce ingredients :
1 tomato
1 shallot
1 clove garlic

no add salt, because tempura batter mix is already had salt in it
simmer on the sauce pan for about 3 minutes or until hot
preparation:
On deep fry pan heat vegetable oil until temperature reach 350 degree F
cut squid into 1/3-1/2 inch thick rings, use tentacles if you like
mix tempura batter with cold water
dip squid into tempura batter mix , drop into Hot oil about 8 ring or so ( I use chopstick to drop into oil ) that way a rings not stuffed with tempura batter and just to avoid splash from hot oil
fry until golden brown about 1-2 minutes
drain into paper towel
serve hot with spicy tomato sauce or any sauce you like
