I combined Indonesian sweet soy sauce / kecap manis, soy sauce and famous hot / spicy sriracha sauce with fresh grated ginger minced garlic and lime juice to make this easy sweet and spicy udon noodles.
You can add thinly slice meat if you like or just cook as vegan dish like I did just add some bean sprouts, tofu,tempeh or any vegetables you like.
- 10 oz udon noodles
- 1 yellow onion
- 5 oz bean sprouts
- 2 Tbsp sesame oil
For the sauce :
- 3 Tbsp sweet soy sauce / kecap manis
- 2 Tbsp sriracha sauce
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp fresh grated ginger
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 Tbsp lime juice
Bring 5 Quart water to boil, Cook udon noodles in boiling water for 10-12 minutes or just follow directions on the package, Drain and set aside.
In a medium bowl mix all the sauce ingredients stir until combine, set aside
meanwhile in large skillet heat sesame oil and cook onion until brown / caramelized, add the sauce mixed,stir, cook for about a minute or so, add noodles and bean sprouts and cook for another 3 minutes or so and stir frequently and ready to serve immediately.
