Date,Almond and honey slices

I got this recipe from  frame>by> frame Baking, the original recipe is date and pistachio nut,but I don't have pistachio nut on hand at the time,so,,,I switch with almond and is turn out really yummy and nutty slices but I still want to try with Pistachio next time.

 Ingredients :
- 1/2 cup chopped,pitted dates
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp water
- 1/2 cup blanched slivered almonds
- 2 tbsp honey
- milk for glazing

for Pastry :
- 1 2/3 cups all purpose flour,sifted
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 3/4 cup butter
- 4-5 tbsp cold water,to mix
Direction:
* Place the dates ,lemon juice,and water in a pan and bring to boil,stirring,remove pan from heat
* stir in almonds and 1 tbsp of honey,cover and let cool
*  Preheat the oven to 400 F
for the pastry ,place the flour,sugar and butter in a food processor and process until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumb
* mix in just enough cold water to bind to a soft,not sticky dough
* Roll out the pastry on a floured surface to two 12x8-inch rectangles,place one on a baking sheet
* spread the date- and- nut mixture to within 1/2 inch of the edge,top with the remaining pastry
* press to seal,trim the edge and mark into 12 slices,glaze with milk
* bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes,until golden brown,brush with the remaining honey and cool on a wire rack,,
* cut into slices and enjoy as a snack or dessert,,,,,
